WhiteWater Ramble

“High-Octane, Rocky Mountain DanceGrass”

Formed in 2004, WhiteWater Ramble's high-octane DanceGrass/Jamgrass is deeply rooted in bluegrass, funk, jazz, swing, techno, rock, reggae, country and blues while exploring the musical boundaries and fusion of these genres. The quintet's makeup of mandolin, acoustic guitar, fiddle, upright bass, vocals and drums fuel it's tightly improvised material. As much as the band creates its own style, the style creates itself. The music is dependent on the moment, honest, and respectful to the road behind.

In just over two year’s time, WWR has had the privilege of opening for Dark Star Orchestra, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, The David Grisman Quintet, Railroad Earth, Jerry Douglas, Tony Furtado, Vince Herman and Great American Taxi, SplitLip Rayfield, Shanti Groove, Wendy Woo, Larry Keel and Natural Bridge, Shakedown Street, Benny Galloway and the Broke Mountain Trio, The Open Road Bluegrass Band, The Railbenders and Newcomers Home.

Based in Fort Collins, CO, WhiteWater Ramble has headlined or co-headlined the 2006 Keystone Brews and Bluegrass Festival, 2006 KSMT Breckenridge Brewfestival, Johnny Cash Tribute Event, 2006 Desert Rocks Festival and is scheduled to headline the 2006 CletusFest. Press Quotes and Excerpts

“Along with the diverse genres, the band also brings an intense energy to the stage.” ~ The Summit Daily News

“WhiteWater Ramble’s strongest point is versatility in style. While often billed with bluegrass bands, the band is not bluegrass in a strict sense. Bluegrass is merely one tool in Whitewater’s shed to get the booty shaking.” ~ The Rocky Mountain Bullhorn

“The style is firmly jamgrass – a touch of Salmon, a dash of Yonder , a soupcon of Grisman – but there’s an undercurrent of fine (and unusual for the genre) funkiness which might point the way to that uniqueness that every band needs.” ~ Mark Burnell, JammedOnline.com

"WhiteWater Ramble is like the Colorado weather, if you don't like what you are listening to, just wait five minutes." ~ The Steamboat Pilot

In regards to WhiteWater Ramble's Debut Album Red Alert! Live, See what the critics are saying…..

“You got funk in my bluegrass! You got bluegrass in my funk! WhiteWater Ramble is one of the hardest working and technically talented bluegrass bands in the area.” ~ The Fort Collins Coloradoan

“Red Alert Live is an impressive exercise in jamming, song writing
and musical energy, and much like the WWR live experience, will have
you coming back for more.” ~ The Scene Entertainment Magazine
